We provide an activity manual with maps to the springs, ichetucknee tubeing, grocery shopping, where to rent canoes or kayaks or tubes. We will direct you if you need us to the following:
1. Diving, swimming at 11 of the many nearby springs, including Blue Springs Park, Ginnie Springs, Poe Springs and Rum Island. 15-20 minutes away. See the link to the right for diving lessons and equipment.
2. Canoe or Kayak down the Santa Fe River. See link to the right.
3. Go tubing down the Ichetucknee River. This is a major fun attraction. 18 minutes away.
4. With advance warning and no dry spell in effect you can have an old fashioned bonfire in our designated area.
5. Visit the nearby State Parks such as O'lena.
6. Horse Back Riding ( horse rental available though a few people in town weather permitting). Just a mile & 1/2 down the road is River Rise Preserve State Park. This park has 43.8 miles of horse trails. Bring your own horses, it's a nice ride on dirt roads to the entrance gate. Negative Coggins required.
7. Bike Riding rental in High Springs. We provide Bike map.
8. Have a picnic or outdoor barbecue on our grounds we have a gas grill and seating and picnic area with a covered swing.
9. Go to the Canterbury horse shows in nearby Newberry
10. Visit our closest spring Rum Island or go swimming at any of the many springs in the surrounding area.
11. Go hiking, take a walk right here on our grounds.
12. Check out the movie library.
13. If you enjoy photography you can get some beautiful shots on the grounds here. We spent 30 years landscaping the grounds.
14. See Gainesvilles Art Museum
15. See Gainesvilles Natural History Museum or Butterfly World.
16. Downtown High Springs is just a few minutes away where you will find many antique and arts and crafts shops. You could easily spend an entire day there just browsing.
17. Our Restaurants are very unique and fun to visit for a good meal. We recommend the Great Outdoors and Fleetwood Diner
18. Check out our "floating boulder" we may have the only one in the world. Two of our trees grew lips around a big boulder and have been lifting it off the ground for the last 35 years. Please do not stand on boulder.
19.In Spring & Summer watch our hummingbirds and they are a lot of fun to watch, also in the early morning you can usually catch a glimpse of the deer. There is absolutely no hunting on our property, no be-be guns or sling shots. This is our private wild life preserve.
20. Downtown Alachua is a great place to visit. It is lined with fantastic restaurants, gorgeous victorian homes,antique and crafts shops. Only 20 minutes or less drive.
21. Take a walk up to inspiration hill. Follow the path of light. see photo below
22. If you are a writer on painter you found the perfect place to get away to.

Diving Lessons
Diving Equipment at the friendly Dive Shop in down town High Springs called Extreme Exposure. Stop by and talk to their staff, this is a facinating place to visit. They have some interesting artifacts displayed.
Here you can rent or purchase equipment and take lessons at the springs.
When you arrive at the Hoot Owl Ranch you will find an activity book with all the maps or phone numbers to all of these places to visit while you are here. We are only 3 minutes drive to Sante Fe River boat launch. (below)
